Four questions it is built to refuse

Most of this site is about answering. This page is about the opposite, because in four trades the cost of being wrong is not a return or an argument — it is a patient, a fire, a failed crop, a joint that shears. In each of them the agent's correct behaviour is to stop, and stopping well is harder than answering.

When does it refuse to answer instead of trying?

Whenever a wrong answer would be a safety problem rather than a commercial one: batch and expiry, material safety data, a crop problem described rather than named, or a part whose specification cannot be read from what was sent. It hands over with the original attached instead of offering its best reading.

A confident wrong answer here is not a bad answer. It is a hazard.

When the question is what this actually is2

Two trades where the identity of the goods carries the risk

A scrawled pharma list, and a batch question

— the list can be read; the batch and expiry cannot be guessed

What you'll observe

The order lines are read back like any other handwritten list. Anything touching batch or expiry stops for a person — those are not catalog facts, they are facts about the specific stock in your building.

The readable part being handled makes the refusal sharper, not weaker: the agent does the work it can do and declines exactly the part where being close is worthless.

An MSDS question, never improvised

— handling, storage, incompatibility, what to do on a spill

What you'll observe

Answered only by giving the actual document you hold for that product, or by fetching a person. It does not summarise a safety sheet, and it does not answer from what is generally true of that class of chemical.

When the question is what to use2

Two trades where the buyer describes a problem and wants a product named for it

A Marathi voice note describing a crop problem

— a symptom, not a brand, and the answer is an agronomic judgement

पिकावर पांढरे डाग आले आहेत, काय फवारायचं?

“There are white spots on the crop — what should I spray?”

What you'll observe

It takes the message, transcribes it and routes it to a person who knows. Naming a product for a described crop problem is advice about someone's season and their soil, and it is not a catalog lookup wearing different words.

The same shape as a symptom-shaped question in healthcare. The tell is identical: a described problem, and a product that would sound like an answer.

A photo of one bolt, no markings

— thread pitch cannot be seen in a photograph

What you'll observe

It says what it can seehead type, rough length — and hands over for the specification it cannot. A fastener supplied on a guessed pitch either will not thread or will fail under load, and both are discovered late.

Questions people ask before they try it

Is refusing these just a limitation you are dressing up?

It is a limit, and it is deliberate rather than incidental. We could make the agent answer all four — the technology will produce fluent text for any of them. What it will not produce is the accountability, and in these four trades the fluent wrong answer is more dangerous than silence because it is believed.

Does that mean these businesses cannot use it at all?

The opposite — most of their day is ordinary trade. A pharma distributor's handwritten lists, a chemical supplier's repeat orders and a fastener wholesaler's rate questions are all handled. What is carved out is a narrow, well-defined set of questions, and knowing exactly where the edge is makes the rest usable.

Who decides where that line sits?

These four are ours and are not tenant-tunable — they are not settings you can widen. Where your own business wants a tighter line than ours, that is a capability you switch off, and off is where every capability starts.

Test it, don't take it from us

Ask it: “Is batch ki expiry kya hai?”

You're talking to the product. Nothing you send is added to any business's catalog.
